Bodyflik, The Human Squeegee.

The Bodyflik is a low-cost, simple, yet highly effective handheld squeegee with a soft gel blade that sweeps water from your body before using a towel. This water then goes down the drain, not on your towel keeping it clean, warm and dry, for longer.

Environmentally friendly: towels stay cleaner much longer, reducing the need for washing and saving time and resources. It helps to reduce water consumption, detergent pollution, electricity and CO2 (Greenhouse Gas) emissions.

The Bodyflik is so light and small, you can take it with you anywhere: to the gym, the pool, the sauna, the hotel, the beach.

The Bodyflik is hygienic - no fibres to grow mould like micro-towels – just run it under the tap to clean.

It is ideal for use when sailing, caravanning or backpacking as it dramatically cuts down the nuisance of drying towels in confined spaces. Brilliant for students.

Best of British – the Bodyflik is designed and manufactured in the UK.

Environment

By using a Bodyflik and missing just one wash and dry cycle a week you could:

• save 5,000-10,000 litres per year (see Water)
• save 237-310 kWh per year (see Electricity)
• reduce your CO2 emissions by 102-134 kg UK/EU, 318-417 lbs US (see CO2 Emissions)

Water
A washing machine cycle uses up to 100 litres of water (22 gallons) - and the average family uses the machine five times a week. That's 26,000 litres (5,720 gallons) in a year.
Miss just one wash a week by not having to wash towels and you save over 5,000 litres a year!

In fact, some washer/dryers use 200 litres per cycle -that's 10,000 litres saved a year.

Electricity
The annual energy saving from doing one less wash and tumble dry per week would be:

kWh saved per year/Energy Rating A B C D E F
90°C wash 271.44 283.92 290.68 297.44 304.20 310.96
60°C wash 256.88 266.24 271.96 277.98 284.44 291.20
40°C wash 237.12 242.84 246.48 249.08 252.20 255.32

(UK/ EU tumble dryers vary only slightly in their electricity usage whatever their energy rating and use approx 4.0 kWh per cycle. Washing machines vary more depending on their energy rating).

CO2 Emissions
These are calculated as kWh multiplied by the kg of CO2 produced per kWh to get the total kg of CO2 (1 kg = 2.2 lbs).
UK/EU:
The UK/EU annual reduction in CO2 from doing one less wash cycle per week would be:
Annual reduction in CO2 emissions/ Energy Rating A B C D E F
90°C wash 117 kg 122 kg 125 kg 128 kg 131 kg 134 kg
60°C wash 110 kg 114 kg 117 kg 122 kg 122 kg 125 kg
40°C wash 102 kg 104 kg 106 kg 107 kg 108 kg 110 kg

US:
The CO2 emission value for the US varies depending on how each state's electricity is generated, but the US average is 1.34 lbs of CO2 produced per kWh:

Annual reduction in CO2 emissions/ Energy Rating A B C D E F
90°C wash 364 lbs 380 lbs 390 lbs 399 lbs 408 lbs 417 lbs
60°C wash 344 lbs 357 lbs 364 lbs 372 lbs 381 lbs 390 lbs
